Have you worked in Switzerland and must now register at the employment office in an EU or EFTA member state? Then you will be asked for the PD U1 form. This form establish the times that are to be taken into account for the granting of benefits when an individual is unemployed.
In the canton of Basel-Stadt, the public unemployment fund provides these certificates.
You need to use the PD U1 document when you apply for unemployment benefits in an EU country. If the employee worked for a company in the Canton of Basel-Stadt, the public unemployment fund certifies the number of hours worked. The International Employer’s Certificate (PDF, 575 KB, in German only) issued by the previous employer is used as the basis for this assessment.
