Hightech im Operationssaal: i-net und der Schweizer Innovationspark Region Nordwestschweiz präsentieren «Surgery 2.0» am Swiss Innovation Forum (SIF)

Key players from the newly formed innovation ecosystem of Northwestern Switzerland will be presenting themselves at a joint stand at the Swiss Innovation Forum (SIF), for the first time.

i-net innovation networks switzerland and Swiss Innovation Park Northwestern Switzerland (SIP NWCH) in collaboration with the Office of Economy and Labour of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, Creapole and Messe Schweiz MCH will be present.

Seven firms and institutions from the medtech area will be presenting innovations on the topic of “Surgery 2.0”. The exhibits cover areas from operation planning through to surgical intervention. Every exhibitor will be presenting a demonstrator model. The medtech start-up Advanced Osteotomy Tools (AOT) from Basel will exhibit the surgical robot «Carlo». «Carlo» (acronym for Computer Assisted, Robot-guided Laser Osteotome) is an award-winning project (Pionierpreis 2014 and CTI MedTech 2015). In the i-net interview, Alfredo E. Bruno, co-founder and CEO of AOT, explained his roadmap for AOT and what drives him to be an entrepreneur.

SIF, a national initiative for targeted promotion of innovation, creativity and design, initiated and supported by the Swiss Economic Forum AG, will be taking place at Congress Center Basel on 19th November 2015, for the tenth time. At this event, over 1,000 future-orientated personalities from Switzerland and abroad will be meeting for cross-sector dialogue about laboratory-grown organs, humanoid robots, industry 4.0 and a house built from a 3D printer.

The Swiss Innovation Forum is aimed at innovative businesses, as well as decision-makers from economics, science, research, education and politics. The Canton of Basel-Stadt is a long-term location partner of SIF.
