Apprenticeship threatened by corona virus?
Who is entitled to receive support?
Companies taking on apprentices that are based in the canton of Basel-Stadt and which are experiencing financial difficulties due to the exceptional situation, whose employees are working short-time either in full or in part and whose apprenticeship contracts are threatened.
Originally, the support was planned for the months April to July. By resolution of the Great Council on 6 June, the support was extended from August to October.
Companies taking on apprentices that have already submitted an application for the months April to July do not need to submit a new application for August to October. However, an up-to-date list of all apprentices from August onwards, including details of the agreed gross wage in accordance with the apprenticeship contract, must be submitted.
Which costs are being financed?
Gross wages of the apprentices according to the apprenticeship contract as well as costs for training courses.
Duration of support
1 April 2020 - 31 October 2020
- Please send the application form including enclosures (in German only) to firstname.lastname@example.org
- The Office of Economy and Labour will check the submission of the short-time work statement for the respective month and will be paying the allowance directly to the training company.
